Jamaican Woodpeckers

Recently we heard the very loud instructions of a mother woodpecker being given to her offspring. They were in our breadfruit tree.Jamaican woodpeckersThe Jamaican Woodpecker (Melanerpes radiolatus) live in our hills.  We usually hear them drilling into trees in search of food and for building their nests.

They usually disappear whenever they see us, so I was thrilled to get this photo of them.
