The ‘Party Time’ Alternanthera Plant is a variegated, ornamental plant with colours – red, yellow, and green. It is also known as Parrot Leaf, and Joyweed. The Alternanthera ‘Party Time’ plant is easy to grow and care. It, however, must be watered regularly.
The ‘Party Time’ plant also requires a few hours of strong sunlight for its leaves to have bright, lively colours. When grown in the shade, this plant will produce paler colours and mostly green foliage, like those ‘Party Time’ plants growing at the side of our house. There are several species of this type of plant – some are ideal for growing indoors, some are weeds, and some are aquatic plants. There are also a couple species that can be eaten as a vegetable. The Alternanthera ‘Party Time’ plant blooms small, pale flower buttons which are held in the leaf axils. These near white flowers are sterile, hence it is not possible to grow this plant from seeds. ‘Party Time’ plants grow quickly from stem cuttings and may grow up to 24 inches in height. They are most suitably grown as an edging plant.
