Pink Rose, Red Leaves

Today’s photos show our rose bush with its pink rose flower and young, red leaves.rose bush with pink roserose bush with pink rose I read that these juvenile leaves are reddish in colour because of the pigment Anthocyanins. This pigment protects the young leaves from bright sunlight. Rose bushIt is also suggested that this pigment – Anthocyanins, also protects the young leaves from attacks by plant eaters that are usually attracted to green color leaves.
