We have a few Baby Rubber plants (Peperomia obtusifolia) growing around the side of our home, they are also called Marble Peperomia, and Pepper Face ‘Variegata’. These plants have cupped leathery leaves that are variegated – green and white. I understand that they produce narrow spikes of white flowers, but ours plants haven’t bloomed as yet.
Baby Rubber plants will grow to the height of 12 inches (30 cm), and can be grown outdoors and indoors. These plants require moderate watering and very little care; they grow best in partial shade. Baby Rubber plants are propagated from leaf cuttings, and are very popular houseplants. They can also be grown in hanging baskets, and as a ground cover.
Please note that parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
