Today, it seems we bought more than just a slice of pumpkin, we also got a bug with it. It was hidden among the seeds.A closer look revealed that it is black insect with red eyes, I do not know what it is called. This insect has distinct marking on its back . . . . . . and its underbelly is slightly red in colour. There are so many species of black and red bugs, that I cannot figure out which one this is. Regardless, these bugs are harmful to both the pumpkin plant and its fruit. In addition, they are known carriers of bacteria and fungus disease spores, which they transmit from plant to plant.
And that’s why I killed it.
