We saw this green Ringneck parrot on our telephone lines today. He obviously had escaped from his owner and cage.
I learned that the Ringneck parrot has a pleasant personality, is highly intelligent and, for the right owner, can make an excellent pet.
The Ringneck parrot must be handled consistently in order to remain tame. If insufficient interaction is provided, it will quickly revert to his wild behavior.
This parrot appeared to be hungry as he was peering down at our dogs eating their meal. He apparently didn’t see the food he was used to and flew away.
I hope he doesn’t die for hunger as escaped birds usually do.
